Abstract
This study is designed to examine the role of depression in predicting one¡¯s response to positive psychotherapy. A total of 60 middle and high school students participated in the 8 session program designed to improve one¡¯s thriving life. Their depression and psychological well-being were measured in terms of the total score of Korean versions of the Beck Depression Inventory and Mental Health Continuum Short Form. The results of multiple regression analysis indicates that the level of depression measured at the pre-test serve as an important predictor of the improvement of one¡¯s psychological well-being after the intervention. Implications and future directions were further discussed.
